Dr. Fred Aminzadeh, Director of the Global Energy Network at USC, received Honorary Membership from the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) at their 2018 conference in Anaheim, California.
Honorary Membership is conferred upon those that have made distinguished contributions to exploration geophysics or a related field through service to SEG. Dr. Aminzadeh was rewarded for his significant contributions, particularly, to the field of seismic signal processing. His many books, patents, and publications focus on technical advances in applied geophysics, computer science, electrical and petroleum engineering. SEG stated that he had contributed “pioneering work” in seismic elastic modeling, pattern recognition and artificial intelligence, reservoir monitoring, and induced seismicity.
Dr. Aminzadeh also served as the SEG President from 2007 to 2008, and was on the esteemed Research and Global Affairs Committees.
